Katie is a North Carolina resident with roots across the country, having lived in California, Colorado, Alabama, and South Carolina. She earned her undergraduate degree in Psychology with a minor in Criminal Justice from The University of Alabama. Following graduation, she moved to Charleston, South Carolina, where she earned her Juris Doctor from Charleston School of Law.
During law school, Katie was actively involved in student organizations, including the Maritime Law Society, Business Law Society, and Women in the Law Society. She also gained valuable hands-on experience working with a local housing court, where she assisted community members in preparing for court hearings and navigating legal procedures.
Katie began her legal career in transactional law and business litigation before joining a boutique estate planning and probate firm. There, she guided clients through emotionally sensitive matters such as succession planning and asset protection. These experiences helped her develop a strong foundation in client-focused advocacy, emphasizing empathy, clear communication, and personalized solutions.
Over time, Katie was drawn to family law, where her background in psychology and diverse legal experience allow her to offer a balanced, compassionate, and pragmatic approach. She is dedicated to helping clients through some of life’s most challenging transitions.
